Benzidine: Part 1

1,4-dicmino Naphthalene & 1,5 - dicnino Ncphthalene can be used as Substitutes for Benzidine.The first one is prepared from 4 -nitro=1- Naphthylamine by reduction.
1,5-Diamino Naphthalene is prepared by nitraties of neputhalene with mixed acid & then the mixture of 1,5-& 1,8- dinitronphenol clenes is separated by fractional crystallization or solvent extraction & then reduced in presence of catalyst.
