Polyester Filament:-
2006 polyester filament production increased by 7% compared to 2005 to 15.9 million tons. Production in China continued to grow sharply with a 15% growth, and its share in global production rose to 61% from 56% in 2005. Production increased by 12% in India, but decreased for all other major producing countries and regions. Production in Korea where production equipment was reduced by 15% in the second half of 2005, declined by 15%. Even for Taiwan where 14% of production equipment was scrapped around the middle of 2006, production was down 6%. As a result of dull textile applications, production in the U.S. and Europe decreased by 9-10%.
