Polyfunctional reactive systems:-

Theoretically, it should be possible to increase fixation efficency by incorporating additional reactive groups into the dye molecule. In practice, the additional reactive groups can have an impact on important physical properties such as solubility, aggregation, substantivity, and migration. Reactive groups increase the molecular weight of a dye but do not improve color strength. The additional reactive groups can lead to lower fixation, especially at heavy depths, and poor build-up. However, several patents pertaining to polyfunctional reactive dyes have been issued. In this regard, the structure of trifunctional reactive dyes such as a monochlorotriazine, monofluorotriazine and vinylsulphone combination.
