Triphenodioxazine dyes can be used to produce deep, bright blue shades on cotton. The first triphenodioxzine reactive dye was marketed by ICI in the the mid-1970s. Triphenodioxazine dyes have gained a significant share of the blue shade area because of their very high color strength (Emax = 70,000-85000) and low production cost.
