Direct anthraquinone dyes :

The anthraquinone direct dyes generally contain groups in the side chain which help in increasing the substantivity of the dye for cotton. Amino anthraquinones having an azo group, or a stilbene group or triazine bridging group linked to another chromophoric system are commonly involved in the anthraquinone direct dyes. However, overall examples of direct dyes derived from onlyanthraquinone chromophores are few and commercial direct dyes are mostly derived from azo chromophores. One example of anthraquinone direct dye is the green dye obtained by the condensation of Bromanine acid and the intermediate aminoazo phenol.
